You know, I have this movie, but I have yet to watch it. Not sure why, really. The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari was an amazing film, and what I’ve seen of Nosferatu I liked. Don’t know why it’s still sitting in my rack unwatched.
I think there is a natural barrier for a lot of people when it comes to Silent Film. Even I, who loves that old stuff, thinks twice every once in a while about popping in a silent film. I think it’s just one of those things where we’ve all been raised on sound film that though we may really appreciate and even like some of those old silent films, we’d just rather watch a sound film for entertainment purposes.
I agree with that. You sort of have to put yourself into a certain mindset to watch silent films and be able to enjoy them. That’s prolly why my copies of Phantom of the Opera, Hunchback of Notre Dame, and Jekyll and Hyde sit on the shelf unwatched as well.

Anybody else have that feeling sometimes?
