There has been an overwhelming response to the 1st Annual Splatcademy Awards…so much so that the ballots exceeded our storage space and Jeff had to expand our e-mail account just to be able to accommodate everyone. First off, I want to thank the hundreds of people who’ve sent in their selections. It’s been a pain in the ass for me to tally up all the ballots, but fun nonetheless. I’ve enjoyed the “You guys are awesome!” comments, and I’ve laughed at the “Your selections suck you elitist jackoffs!” comments.

There was never any set in stone day that voting would end; we just figured a week; but in the spirit of the upcoming Potomoc Primaries on Tuesday (Vote for this guy) I’m going to extend the voting through Tuesday night. That means, if you haven’t done so already, you can fill out a ballot and let your voice be heard.

I won’t give away any hints as to which films/filmmakers/characters etc. are leading the pack, but what I will say is that we have multiple categories that are extremely close and the difference may very well come down to these last couple days of voting. So, tell your friends, tell your enemies, tell your pets, and tell your grandmother to vote. We’ll reveal the winners on Splattercast #67 which will take place on Monday, February 25th. To make the show even more interesting, we’ll be having a variety of podcasting “presenters”, who will be coming out on “stage” and reading the names of the nominees. Should be great fun if we can pull it off.

This is either going to be awesome beyond belief, or we’ll completely botch this and you’ll all listen to us as we spiral out of control into audio hell. I’m leaning more towards the latter
