Sweeney Todd wins an Oscar. No, it wasn’t Johnny Depp in the Best Actor category, but rather “Best Achievement in Art Direction”.

Did it deserve the award? Probably not, but it’s still great to see a horror film grab an award. Of course, tonight was just the JV league. Tomorrow night, the Varsity comes center stage as the First Annual Splatcademy Awards honor the real films, directors, and moments worth rewarding.

p.s. I was glad to see No Country sweep the big awards, and puzzled by The Bourne Ultimatum winning a bunch of technical stuff?
