You have nothing to fear but Fear Itself
So I caught the first episode of what is essentially Masters of Horror: Season 3 renamed and repackaged for broadcast television (NBC).
The episode was called “The Sacrifice” and involved a group of criminals who end up at an isolated quasi-fort run by three hot blondes. Turns out they lure passersby to their home in order to feed a vampire they keep locked up. I thought the episode was alright. I liked the winter, isolated setting. The acting was passable, Rachel Miner is hot, and I thought the whole idea of an isolated Amish style community (think The Village) whose existence is based upon the idea that their only function is to keep the vampire from getting loose and into our “modern” world was nifty. The problems are the usual suspects: predictable ending, unoriginal setups, nothing you haven’t seen before, etc. Still, it was worth spending an hour to watch. I can only hope that when these come out on DVD they actually show some gore.
Oh, that opening title sequence and song by Terj Tankian (of System of a Down fame) is freaking terrible. Whoever greenlit that garbage should be fired. They should have kept the old MoH tune.

Okay! So the only things we have to fear are spiders, snakes, werewolves, sharks, dying alone, zombies, clowns, heights, big dogs, robots with human brains, Johnson’s wife, AND fear itself!
Name the reference!

Also i watch this my self being a fan of some of the MOH can’t say I hated it a 100% but it was again like you said more of the same.
I do think that the story was not shabby just as soon as I saw “the Preacher” get up i was like fucking lame vampire story…..
The end was a bit of a oh shit kinda…..she just closes him in with her I enjoy not so happy endings sometimes haha…
Yeah that main theme is for nu-metal kids and Muslim crack whores fuck Terj “jerked chiken” Tankian.
All in all not as good as show time but if it kills an hour and dosent blow too much ass cock i’ll watch.

Thought the entire set up was kind of preposterous. Why was daddy being fed on and not turning? Did I miss that he was having blood extracted, or was he already a vampire so that’s why he was chained up? And if the girls could disarm and maim so many humans, they certainly could have figured out a way to kill one vampire. One fire and it was over, and he was in the habit of going down that hole anyway.
But the production values were there and, hey, it’s horror.
