Odds and Ends

1. Anyone who has not signed up for our Facebook group should do so now. There will soon beĀ  exclusive site content which will be available only on Facebook including, but not limited to, Outpost Doom, TWM, The Grand Horror, and Splattercast extras. We’ll also be doing various contests and giveaways through the group. Sign up!

2. Left 4 Dead Night: 2 will be Saturday, August 15th. Unlike the previous incarnation which was a big shindig, this will be more of an informal affair. If you want to hook up with some Splattercast hosts and fellow horror afficionados for a night of zombie killing mayhem, then mark your calendar. Gaming begins around 8pm central time and will continue into the wee hours of the morning. Add our Gamertags (be sure to let us know if you are a listener, otherwise you probably won’t be added)

3. Do you have a short film idea that you’ve always wanted to see produced? If so, please contact us at splattercast@gmail.com for full details.

4. Editing, editing, editing. (can’t find Scene 2. I know we have it, somewhere….)

  • Twitter is stupid, but Facebook is not?

  • yes.

as I’ve always stated, Twitter is completely and utterly unnecessary. Facebook can do the exact same thing and more.

  • Wet blanket.

  • Never said you can’t live in your happy Twitter land, just pointing out the fact that it’s stupid.

Lots of people like stupid. Nothing wrong with that.

  • I for one am glad to know that Facebook can be utterly unnecessary and more.

I tried to join. They rejected the name Fake Larry and wouldn’t allow my registration. I has been dissed. Fuck ‘em.

  • Ugh Facebook. The more in “Twitter and more” is the problem I have with Facebook. I’d have used MySpace when it was popular if I wanted what Facebook offers. Hopefully Jeff will report via Twitter.

  • I like Twitter more than Facebook, but I recently learned I could hook my Twitter into my Facebook, so I can do both simultaneously. The downside of that is that I can’t dis Mat on Twitter anymore, because it will wind up in my Facebook feed where he can see it.

Facebook has some applications that are handy, like scheduling an event and sending invites out to a list of people, who can in turn RSVP, leave messages about the event, etc. Other than that, it’s a lot of bullshit, but people love it. Social networking is absolutely here to stay, in one form or another.

  • You can totally type in a message in under 140 characters via your phone to facebook and it will show up on all of your friends’ feeds. Amazing!

In fact, you can even type in MORE than 140 characters! Doubly Amazing!

    ;)

  • But then it wouldn’t be on Twitter, which I enjoy using.
