On the off-chance that you care, this weekend is the pre-release for the new Magic: The Gathering set, Zendikar. Registration for the Lincoln event is 9:00am on Saturday, a little too early for my taste (especially since I’m planning to go to a midnight movie the night before) but I’ll drag myself out of bed because this set looks like a lot of fun.

If the delay of L4D’s Crash Course add-on has left you with some MS points burning a hole in your virtual wallet, you might take a look at Zombie Apocalypse which came out today on Xbox Live. I downloaded the demo and it’s a fun take on the twin stick shooter genre. You might even say it rips off L4D, in some aesthetic terms.
The full game is 800 points ($10) which keeps me on the fence. For $5 I’d grab it right away. The demo is free, though, so I recommend you check it out.

Paranormal Activity has a lot of positive buzz right now and, fortunately for us Lincolnites, it will be playing at The Ross here in town. Even better, you’ve got the opportunity to see the movie for free! Here’s the info…
We would like to invite you to an advance screening of PARANORMAL ACTIVITY on Thursday, September 24th at 10:00 PM at the Ross Media Arts Center at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln.
Visit http://www.filmmetro.com/events/view/5847 to download your free passes for you and your friends now!
To view the trailer, please visit www.paranormalactivity-movie.com/trailer.html
I won’t make it to the free Thursday screening, but I’m hoping to go to Friday’s midnight showing instead. The other dates (all midnight showings) are 9/26, 10/1-3.

UPDATE: Valve decided to tell everyone today that Crash Course won’t be available until next Tuesday, the 29th. Way to build anticipation and then pull the rug out from everyone, Valve.
If you like Left 4 Dead like Deejay likes alcohol then you know the Crash Course DLC is coming out tomorrow (allegedly). If you jump on L4D today you’ll notice an update for the game. I haven’t tested it out but apparently it fixes the “poweshot”. If you look on the survival mode leaderboards you’ll notice that there are 2 new maps “The Bridge” and “The Truck Depot”.
Also, on the main menu, all of your achievements are wiped out. Apparently, this is because there will be 10 new achievements released with the DLC tomorrow!
I can only assume that these are the Survival Mode achievements that PC players got and 360 users didn’t when the new mode was released. 360 users were screwed out of them by Microsoft because apparently they don’t want players to get achievement points for free.
I am excited. I’ll be playing Crash Course constantly over the next two days beginning tomorrow around noon (Got a Spanish exam in the morning, I’ll need to take out my frustrations). If you’re on, let’s kill shit!

Another short, grab bag episode before #150. This week we talk about Bachelor Party in the Bungalow of the Damned, which we viewed via the Netflix Movie Party feature on Xbox live.
If you haven’t done so already, be sure to submit your top horror films of the decade before next weeks show. Splattercast@gmail.com

So, I just saw this on Digg and it made me smile. I’ve never seen the show and I had to read some of the Digg comments to learn what the context was.
