After Dark at Madame Tussaud’s
We were passed along this awesome info about the new “After Dark” attraction at Madame Tussaud’s in New York. Here’s the info from the press release:
JOURNEY THROUGH THE PITCH-BLACK WAX ATTRACTION – GUIDED BY ONLY A SINGLE LIGHT – AND LEARN ABOUT THE GHASTLY HISTORY OF MADAME TUSSAUD
***
Death masks created by Madame Tussaud in the 18th century, letters from Jack the Ripper and torture devices used in the French Revolution among the surprises during AFTER DARK
Just in time for Halloween, Madame Tussauds New York will turn off its lights and host a preview of AFTER DARK – a spine-tingling, interactive tour of the famed Times Square wax attraction, which takes visitors on a journey through Madame Tussaud’s ghastly and often terrifying history. Gruesome artifacts collected by Madame Tussaud for her traveling Chamber of Horrors, including 18th century torture devices and a letter from Jack the Ripper, are among the surprises during “AFTER DARK.”
AFTER DARK takes guests through the eerie darkness and hallowed halls of Madame Tussauds New York, guided by only a single light. As the attraction’s incredibly lifelike wax figures look on, visitors will be transported to the late 18th century, where Madame Tussaud began her craft by digging through piles of executed bodies and creating death masks of famous victims and executed nobles during the French Revolution. The AFTER DARK tour concludes with a visit to Madame Tussauds New York’s newly-enhanced “Scream” exhibit, in which live actors lurk behind darkened corners to frighten unsuspecting visitors.
Information for Public: AFTER DARK will open to the public for 6 nights only (October 22 – 24 and October 29 – 31) from 9 P.M. – 1 A.M. Tickets are $20. Not recommended for children under 12 years old
Any Splattercast listeners in the New York area should definitely check this out, sounds rad!

oh cool. Thanks for the info Mat. If i get a certain someone to accompany me, i’ll probably check that out. Friday i’m going to see Paranormal Activity right next door from Madam Tusseau, and to get her to come along I lied and told her “its not scary at all, its like pg13 kid stuff.” Lets see how that works out for me first lol. But it sounds good. Theres also going to be a big haunted house thing downtown in NYC, its like 30$.

That sounds awesome, but it’s about 6 hours away and I just don’t have the $$ to spare. Only thing with it is, I am the WORST with haunted house attractions where some motherfucker jumps out at me in the dark. My husband pulls that shit on me all the time because he knows I’ll flip out!
