Back from the depths of Peoria
We’re back from Peoria!
I’m exhausted right now, so I’m not going to even bother trying to document our trip, but just wanted all of the Dead Lantern faithful to know that Deejay, Steve, Jeremy, and I (along with the two lovely females in tow, Dani and Kimmy) made it safely back to our respective abodes. It was a fun and interesting weekend. Met lots of people. The Drunken Zombie guys were great. Outpost Doom went…um….somewhere…you’ll have to wait for that story
The next Splattercast will be chock full of interviews and memories from the trip. We have a lot to talk about. We’ll also be posting photos and video in the next few days. For now, though, I’m just going to take a long shower and vegetate on my couch until I fall into a deep sleep.

In case anyone was wondering “Is OUTPOST DOOM good?” I am here to answer you’re questions. So I bought the Grand Horror and enjoyed it for what it was. Not my favorite movie of all time but you know, decent. Well when we started talking about doing a film festival and I know Mat was editing OD I knew we had to get it to play. So following the production and what I knew of the the story I knew I really wanted to see it. So when I put the DVD into the projector and ran down to my seat to watch the film I was hoping we were in for a treat.
And honestly I thought it was great. Mat had mentioned before that you had to keep in mind that this was very much a murder mystery in a setting that had some monsters in it. to that I thought it was fantastic. It does a great job and the guys decision to change it to black and white was a great way to go. I think it added more atmosphere. But whenever this finally comes out on DVD grab a copy.

I thin kthe DVD should have he black and white version as a option like with The Mist. Only unlike The Mist I’m positive Outpost Doom is actually good.

The movie is black and white already. There won’t be an option. You’ll be forced to view it in B&W
