yes in avp gold there are 4 vision modes for the preditor. thermal, electroinc, predtech, and normal, also the cloak on avpg runs of your energy. so in gold you need to watch you energy use alot. 2 of his weapons also run off of the energy. and the game always deducts 2 energy for turing on the cloak and when switching vision modes alot.
the other ones are the disc speargun and the wrastblades.

marines have 2 vision modes normal and night vision. the game calls it image intesafer. he alos recives flares and some of the most powerfull weapons inthe gAME.like the miningun, and the sadar rocket launcher

aliens have the navagtion sense and the normal view. all enimes except for machines have a blue or a gree out line to them. so you cant hide from them. witch is why the alien only has melle weapons. witch kinda sucks

If I remember correctly, didn't the old games have some sort of "thermal timer". You couldn't even keep it on if you wanted because it was just too much of an advantage. Same thing with the cloaking device.

I bet there would be a really small group of people that would really latch onto playing in that vision style. Would it be mainstream and popular, no, and would people bitch, yeah. But it would have been a bold design decision.

hell, even in the old avp pc games the predator had a normal vision mode. kinda have to have one, like frank said seeing in just that mode or his other funky looking visions would be headache inducing. no reason you couldnt just keep it in thermal mode if you wanted.

The problem with the Predator is that in past games he just feels so underpowered. They always have to dumb him down. I think if they would have chosen to do the different spectrums, sure it would have made it much more difficult to play as the Predator and maybe not as "fun", but that's the type of character that is sort of built for "hardcore" gamers only. Giving the Predator all of his gadgets and weapons, but forcing players to have to "see" the game in a different way to utilize him properly would have been much more interesting, I think. And once a player did get good using a Predator, you'd know that there would certainly be a more deadly challenge in an online mode.

Ah well.

I think I remember some sequence in Resident Evil 4, back on the GameCube, where there was a certain monster that you had to turn on a heat-vision scope and then shoot certain weak points on its body that appeared through the scope. As a sequence, that was great - it was a puzzle/challenge to use that special vision to fight that monster.

I always liked in Predator 2 when he goes through all sorts of different light spectrums. It could have been cool to do something like that and giving the human characters some sort of defense against heat, etc.

Just seems like the heat vision won't be very powerful if you can see the humans just fine without it.

Yeah if he saw in infrared the whole game I have a feeling it will be like virtual boy for me all over again hours with everything having a red hue to the need for a stronger eye glasses prescription. It all ends badly if he has predator sight threw the whole game.

I hope its make moms angry gory...

While it's flavorful in a movie to show the Predator seeing the world in infra-red (or whatever it's supposed to be) I think it would be pretty yucky to play a video game entirely through that visual filter.

Why does the Predator see in "regular" vision?

I read an early look at this game and the reviewer said it was ridiculously gory. Like borderline make mothers angry, gory.
