Behind the scenes sneak peek at the upcoming movie in the Predator franchise: Predators. It includes behind the scenes stuff, clips from the movie, and some info from Robert Rodriguez. We haven’t had a good Predator movie since 1987, but maybe Rodriguez will have some positive influence on this one.

I kind of lost interest in this one when they passed up on Neil Marshall (“Dog Soldiers/”The Descent”). I will say the behind the scenes snippet looked interesting – I just have ZERO faith in anything Rodriguez does.

On the contrary, I haven’t seen a Rodriguez film I haven’t liked, including The Faculty (note, have not seen any of the Spy Kids movies…). But he’s not directing it so not sure how much pull he has

I don’t care what you fanboys and girls say: Planet Terror sucks.
This behind the scenes featurette actually made me less interested in the film. What? The predator homeworld looks like Yellowstone national park? Totally unimaginative jungle setting. I feel like I’ve already seen this movie. It’s called Predator.

I don’t care what fanboys say: Grindhouse sucked…period.
Yeah, it does look pretty uninspired. But it’s like I said on the aliens ep of splattercast. What else can you really do with the predators? I mean, I dig both movies. Hell, I probable enjoy this one. But what else can you do with the predators? Change the scenery? It’s still the same story.

Robert Rodriguez is a good film maker and this predator looks great. SPOILER: Chris Hanson from Dateline NBC defeats him and saves the day!
I don’t care what Mat Says, Planet Terror kicked fucking ass and if you didn’t like it then you simply do not like stuff that kicks motha fuckin’ ass.

I liked Deathproof better than Planet Terror. Planet Terror was it was- Hysterically bad whereas Deathproof was actually pretty good. Tarantino NAILED the 70s feel right down to the locations.

Death Proof was brilliant and Planet Terror was goofy fun. I will say without hesitation that DP is categorically superior to PT but I enjoy them both. Seeing the Grindhouse package in the theater is one of my favorite moviegoing experiences.
I know there’s a whole wealth of comic books featuring the Predators, so maybe some interesting story ideas have been explored in that context. For a movie, though, how do you tell any story with the Predator that’s better or different than the original film? I guess I like the angle in Predator 2 where Busey’s team wants to capture the alien.
So long as Rodriguez delivers a gory action movie that’s cool to look at, that’ll be fine by me.

Looks like it has potential… I’m cautiously optimistic
