The Blackfoot Lounge: Truth or Dare w/ Tim Ritter interview

Episode 2: Truth or Dare?: A Critical Madness (1986) d. Tim Ritter

This week, we take a look at the weird slasher/action hybrid Truth or Dare?: A Critical Madness and feature an interview with director Tim Ritter. The film is certifiably bizarre and worth a look for any diehard slasher fan.

The flick is about a dude named Mike who finds his wife screwing his best friend when he arrives home from work early. That causes him to snap. He plays a psychotic game of Truth or Dare with an imaginary hitchhiker with giant breasts causing him to cut out his tongue. He heads to a mental institution only to be let out for good behavior. He then dons a copper mask and goes on a killing spree. Like I said, it’s bizarre.

If you dig this film, be sure to check out the 7 part “Making of” documentary on Youtube.

  • Somebody had to say it – I’m just glad it was you, Borp!

  • Well, you did your job…I’ve never had interest in revisiting this film, but now I do. Thanks. Thanks a lot. I hate you guys.

  • Holy shit, I just realized that I used to talk to Chris on B-Independent. His comment about the Shrieking gave it away. Now I’ll definitely be back for more of these podcasts.

  • Rory – Yeah, Chris and I are actually recording the first episode of a new podcast tonight that will be coming soon to Dead Lantern, entitled “Monsters of the Marquee”. This one revolves around Monster movies from the 30′s through the 60′s.

  • Nice, I’ll be back to listen to it.
