Here’s a teaser for The Skunkape Story, coming soon from Retro Horror Remix. The film will debut here in Lincoln, Nebraska at the Joyo Theater on December 11th and will be available to download from the Retro Horror Remix website on February 1st. A while back we covered the showing of Return to Horror House here in Lincoln. Now Retro Horror Remix is back with another short film. It’s called Dead Ending and it’s free to download. The director, Dustin Ferguson, describes it as an “homage to the old cheap black and white horror/scifi flicks. It’s Night of The Living Dead meets Day of The Triffids.”

The film is playing on channel 13 this Saturday night at 10:30pm. Dustin also reports that his next film, The Skunkape Story (a bigfoot docudrama) should finish filming in November, with a Joyo screening to follow this Spring.

Sounds great to me, Dustin! Keep up the good work. Lincoln horror represent!

On the off-chance that you care, this weekend is the pre-release for the new Magic: The Gathering set, Zendikar. Registration for the Lincoln event is 9:00am on Saturday, a little too early for my taste (especially since I’m planning to go to a midnight movie the night before) but I’ll drag myself out of bed because this set looks like a lot of fun.

Sorority Row opens today. I’m sure it’s crummy but I’m a total sucker for slashers. I even watched the Prom Night remake on Netflix Instant a couple weeks ago (it was painfully awful). Sorority is a “maybe” for me. Any of you guys going?

I also want to thank Cinemetographer_X for posting on the forum about Rob Zombie’s animated film, The Haunted World of El Superbeasto. I was aware that the movie was coming out but I didn’t expect it to be playing anywhere near me. As it turns out, here in Lincoln there’s a one-time showing at 11:00pm at the Grand on Saturday night.
