Have a laugh

The X-Files question is for Jo :)

Because.

Reflections on 5 Years of Podcasting.

Feel free to absolutely not read any of this. It’s typically long, rambling, and uninteresting. And probably makes sense only to me. But I couldn’t let the 5 year anniversary of the Splattercast go by without reflecting and reminiscing about this wild world of podcasting.

The first time we started batting around the idea of doing a podcast was the summer of 2005. When exactly it came up and in what context is sort of vague but I distinctly remember talking about it during the filming of The Grand Horror. Most likely in one of the many hours of screwing around while waiting for the theater to close in order to shoot, I said something like “Hey, we should start a podcast on horror movies.” It probably sprang from the fact that we’d talk about horror movies regularly (obviously) but also because Deejay had a “recording studio” and no doubt offered all his expertise in audio gear. We only talked about starting one in the summer of 2005. It was just an off hand thing. One of many ideas that would probably never come to fruition.

Cool L.A. Noire screenshots

I’m almost done with LA Noire, and although there are valid criticisms that can be levied against the game, there’s no doubt that it’s fun. One of the small details that make me smile is the city itself, in particular the theaters. It’s pretty insane how incredible the recreation of 40′s era Los Angeles is, and it’s neat to just roam around looking at stuff. And of course, what would Los Angeles be without studio owned and operated movie theaters? It’s always cool to see what film is showing on the marquee. It just so happens that the peeps at Rockstar are fans of two of my favorite noirs ever: The Big Sleep and Nightmare Alley.

It never ends.

Sigh.

So, who wants these?

Happy Friday the 13th

For Tux and Steve

We had a great time on Xbox Live last night. First, Steve, Ronin, and myself fired up some L4D2. In a pleasant surprise, our friend Aaron (tuxbiker in the chat room) jumped on and gamed with us. After dying repeatedly because of Steve’s stupidity, we decided to fire up some RDR poker. We gamed for a few hours and had lots of laughs. It was a fun night all around. But a large percentage of it was discussing the greatness of Christina Hendricks and her boobs. Hey, we’re allowed to be men every once in a while, right? So for Steve and Aaron, here you go.

Ronin? Well, you get NOTHING. I’m sorry, that was rude of me. You get these.

Um….

I was gonna do a blog post, but I have nothing to say.

Writer’s block.
